The 19th Greater Dayton Lebanese Festival, sponsored by St Ignatius of Antioch Maronite Catholic Church, will be held on the church grounds:
Friday, Aug 24, 2012 - 6 pm to 11 pm
Saturday, Aug 25, 2012 - 11 am to 11 pm
Sunday, Aug 26, 2012 - 11 am to 6 pm
The festival will feature Middle Eastern dancing and entertainment, cultural displ ays, crafts booths, amusement rides and games for all ages. For adults, we are offering various games of chance.
Authentic hand-made L ebanese foods will be available for sale in cl uding Kibbee, Kafta, marinated Garlic Chicken, Falafel, Shawarma (“Lebanese gyro”), Tabouli salad, Fatoosh salad (Middle-Eastern bread salad), stuffed grape leaves, hummus dip, homemade Middle Eastern mountain bread with zhata seasoning; and fresh Lebanese pastries.
The festival’s opening ceremonies at 6 pm on Friday will include the singing of the US and Lebanese National Anthems along with the Wright-Patterson AFB Honor Guard presenting the colors.
On Sunday at 10 am, Father Pierre T. Bassil, the pastor, will celebrate the Maronite Catholic Mass which includes the ancient Eucharistic prayer in Aramaic, the language spoken by Christ. All are welcome to attend.
The parish’s 2011 building fund raffle, with a $2,000 first prize, $1,000 second prize and $500 third prize will be drawn on Sunday, August 28 at 4 pm. Raffle tickets, $5 each or 5 for $20, will be available all weekend from festival staff members.

DIRECTIONS TO THE FESTIVAL
St. Ignatius is located at 5915 Springboro Pike (Route 741), Miami Township (Dayton), Ohio, about one-quarter mile south of the intersection of Route 741 and Alex-Bell Road. Walgreens is next door and Meijer’s is across the road.
From I-75 southbound: Take Exit 50-B (Route 741), then go south on Route 741 for about six minutes.
From I-75 northbound: take Exit 44 (Route 725), turn right at bottom of exit ramp, follow to Route 741 and turn left (north) for about 3 minutes.
